YEARLY EVENTS:
GOORANGAI
DAY SERVICE
November each
year (the closest Sunday to 20th November)
Organized by the Naval Minesweepers Association,
this annual service commemorates the sinking of the Minesweeper Goorangai
in Port Phillip on 20th November 1940 with the loss of all
hands. The Museum has a permanent Goorangai Display.
Details of the Goorangai's
history and the sinking may be found
on an excellent web site maintained by
Eric F. Langenberg
of the Maritime
Archaeology Association Of Victoria.
2008 Service will be held on Sunday
23 November.
MARITIME SWAP
MEET - 1ST SUNDAY IN DECEMBER EACH YEAR
Sunday 7th
December 2008: 2nd Annual Maritime Swap Meet - in the Museum’s
grounds. Gates open to the public 9.00am - 1.00pm. Entry $4.00 adults,
child under 16 free.

holders contact us for a registration form.
If you have
items you wish to donate to the Museum’s stall
please drop them into the Museum. Free
pick up of items can be arranged if you live in the Geelong/Bellarine area phone
June (Mon – Friday) to arrange.
Light
refreshments will be on sale - this is a fundraising event for the Museum so
please come along and support us.

AND COUTA BOAT REGATTA

7.30pm - “Fishy Tales” in the Boatshed at the Maritime Museum
$12.00 per person. Tickets on sale from 26th January 2009

2.00pm - Blessing of the Fleet, Queenscliff Harbour
3.30pm - Couta Boat Regatta, starts at Queenscliff Pier.
3.30pm - Search for Benito’s Treasure near the Pier (children)
