Museum tours

The Museum conducts guided tours which take approximately 1 hour and can be tailored to suit specific groups such as:

  • primary school students

  • secondary school students

  • TAFE or university students

  • youth clubs or groups

  • adult community groups

Our guides are local people who have an extensive knowledge of the maritime history of Queenscliff and southern Port Phillip and they make the tours interesting, informative and exciting.  All tour guides have current Working With Children Checks.

Hours of opening and the price of admission including tour prices are given on the Hours of Opening page on our web site.

Museum Tour Bookings

Contact the Museum by phone to 03 5258 3440 between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday or contact us by email.

Tour bookings should be made at least 2 weeks ahead so that we can organise our guides.  Once a tour is booked we arrange a guide/guides to conduct the tour.

When requesting a tour please advise the approximate number in the group and the number of teachers/carers who will attend.  For school tours we need to know the age level so that the guide can tailor the tour to suit.

We can tailor the tour to your special interests such as shipwrecks or Port Phillip history, or for the subject area students are studying.

The Museum can provide worksheets for school students on request or you may design your own worksheet with the help of information we can supply prior to the visit.  Work Sheets for lower-middle primary school students may be downloaded from the Defiance page
